A section specially dedicated to trekking enthusiasts, an idea which bloomed under the hardcore trekkers Dr Hemant Borse and Sanjay Amrutkar. Bhatkanti Katta, an informal group from Nashik pursuing various kinds of hobbies like trekking, mountaineering, cycling, and photography contributed to form a collection of 350 books related to these hobbies, particularly focusing on forts and history. This section is further being developed to cover books related to various hobbies.
We have a special arrangement with British Council, wherein we promote Online Library services of British Library in Nashik. A vast repository of e-books on academic subjects as well as e-journals, newspapers, magazines, short films and documentaries are available to members on a click at an affordable price.
Nature cannot be confined within the walls and books. So is Carvi. We have an special association with Nature Conservation Society of Nashik, (NCSN), which is a pioneer NGO working in the field of Environment, founded by Bishwarup Raha. Be it tree plantation, advocacy, Society publications Carvi has been associated closely in all conservation efforts carried out by NCSN. The concrete work being setting up of Vihang Bird Watch, an interpretation centre for birds, at Gangapur Campsite and publishing of a comprehensive book, ‘Birds of Nashik District – A Conservation Guide’.
Carvi is also actively involved with Marathi Vidnyan Parishad, Jeevan Utsav, Field Publicity Office and many other organizations working for similar cause.
