Centre for Environment Education

Centre for Environment Education (CEE) was established in August 1984 as a Centre of Excellence supported by erstwhile Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, with its headquarters in Ahmedabad. Its prime focus is to promote environmental awareness nationwide. CEE is engaged in strengthening environmental education and training initiatives by developing pioneering programs that promote environmentally ethical behaviour.

CEE develops innovative programs and educational material, and builds capacity in the field of education and communication for sustainable development. Its mission is to enhance understanding of sustainable development in formal, non-formal and informal education through its work with schools, higher educational institutions, policy makers and reaching out to youth and the general community.

It works for promoting sustainable practices in rural and urban communities, and in business and the public sector, and in meeting challenges of global issues such as climate change and biodiversity conservation.

As a part of this effort, CEE publishes books on various environmental issues, special environmental education package for the students and teachers, teacher’s manual, posters etc. These books are available with us for sale.
